KAKA'AKO KASUALS
Kakaʻako Kasuals is a Hawaiʻi-based footwear brand specializing in comfortable, sustainable, and stylish footwear made for both island adventures and everyday life. As a graphic designer, I create custom slipper designs that showcase each client’s unique identity through thoughtful design. This selection features projects created for meaningful brands across Hawai'i.
KAMEHAMEHA SCHOOLS
It was a privilege to create something for Kamehameha Schools, and I wanted to ensure that the designs appropriately honor the strength of the Hawaiian people. I chose to incorporate elements of Polynesian tattoos, which carry stories of identity and resilience, and wove them together with the natural flow of water, a reminder of life and growth. I balanced that organic energy with a collegiate feel, grounding the collection in a sense of pride and belonging. This project seeks to honor tradition while capturing the confidence and spirit of Kamehameha Schools.

HILTON HAWAIIAN VILLAGE WAIKIKI BEACH RESORT
This collection was especially fun to conceptualize because there’s so much beauty at the Hilton Hawaiian Village. The first design was inspired by The Rainbow Mural by artist Millard Sheets, which is featured on the iconic Rainbow Tower and is created from thousands of hand-painted ceramic tiles. From the gardens on the resort, I selected the ti leaf for its protection and good luck, and the plumeria, a flower that embodies the spirit of Aloha. Another design captures the rhythm of the waves, conveying the energy and motion of Waikiki. Through each piece, I hope to bring back memories of an unforgettable stay at the Hilton Hawaiian Village Waikiki Beach Resort.

Guided by our state motto, Ua Mau ke Ea o ka ʻĀina i ka Pono—“The life of the land is perpetuated in righteousness”—this collection serves as a reminder of the importance of living in balance with the land. Floral elements like bird of paradise, Hawaiian white ginger, and hibiscus bring the spirit of joy, friendship, and beauty, capturing the aloha that connects us to one another. Kalo is both a foundational food source and a symbol of family, identity, and cultural heritage. Together, these designs reflect a story of harmony, connection, and pride.

Stepping into the Sheraton Waikiki Beach Resort is entering a space filled with warmth, history, and connection. This collection brings Hawai‘i’s stories to life through patterns and plants with meaningful symbolism. The lei represents that first welcome and the spirit of aloha. I featured tropical flowers and ferns, including the native Pā‘ūohi‘iaka flower, which is told to have shaded the volcano goddess Pele’s younger sister Hiʻiaka, as she slept on the beach. I also incorporated the palaka, once worn by plantation laborers and now an iconic symbol of Hawai‘i’s shared history. Each element carries its own meaning, united in a celebration of heritage and hospitality.

I started with the bright hues of the surfboards along the shore and the sparkling turquoise of Waikiki Beach. Vibrant, refreshing cocktails and lush greenery capture the relaxing vibes of vacation life. This collection is a celebration of a joyful tropical getaway at the Hyatt Regency Waikiki Beach Resort and Spa.
